{NEWSICON} My Android phone has an embedded GPS, so I decided to test some of the free training applications of the Android market.
So far I've found SportyPal, RunKeeper and Softrace.
Today I tried the first one, which produces quite a sexy summary of my run:
However, I ain't entirely satisfied:- The total distance is false (at least different from the one computed by my watch, and I tend to believe the watch),
- The max speed is funny (30.84 km/h, no I ain't Wile E. Coyote),
- The altitude variation is false.
I suspect the GPS input to be not very reliable, not SportyPal to be buggy.
Next run, I'll try RunKeeper.
All that does not matter in the end, as long as I run and I'm having fun with my mobile phone
(and I'm quite proud of my 49'53", my second personal best performance)
(knowing you're being spied by satellites definitively makes you run quicker, that's a fact)
